Play the recruiter relationship long game.

If a recruiter reaches out to you about a job you’re not interested in, schedule time to talk to them anyway.  

We know there are tons of recruiters out there, and many are simply transactional. But a good recruiter will give you feedback on your career trajectory, insights into the market and will keep your interviewing skills fresh. Importantly, they will build a long term relationship with you and follow your career. 

Connect with some good recruiters (like us!), and start to build your recruiter network now, not when you are actively looking for a new job. So, when that perfect role opens up next year, 5 years or even 10 years from now, you are the first person that comes to a recruiter’s mind.
